My computer died. Kaput, dead, never to be revived again. It started with a video card problem where it would crash a few minutes into loading WoW. Funny thing is, it would crash liek 5-6 times repeatedly, then be perfectly fine. So, being the intelligent being that I am, I simply ignored it and kept on raiding!
And now... it is dead =( Actually, I haven't been in the 'computer buying' market for a long time and I was looking forward to indulging my geeky side by piecing together computer parts. So off I trot to the computer shop, only to discover that NOTHING opens on weekends. Or if they do, they are shut by noon. I mean, THAT'S NOT FAIR!! Not all computer buyers are bespectacled uni students who spend their days alternating between gaming and coding. I mean, some people have to work! And each Saturday morning has seen me busy with band practice, meetings, etc. I want a new computer =( Hopefully I'll get one next Sat (please noone arrange meetings).
In other news, I'm going to Canberra this Saturday to see Nadine and Drew (see busy on Sat morning again!). I haven't been to Canberra in a while. Most of my memories of Canberra are travelling there with the family, being squished in the backseat with my brother and sister. Oh and Dad stopping to examine roadkill (he's a vet - cheap form of skill upkeep). Actually, this is the first time I've been to Canberra where I get to sit in the front seat of the car - HURRAH! Anyone wanting goods delivered to the Nadine and Drew in Canberra better let me know before Friday!

Psalm 43
Vindicate me, O God,
and plead my cause against an ungodly nation;
rescue me from deceitful and wicked men.
You are God my stronghold.
Why have you rejected me?
Why must I go about mourning,
oppressed by the enemy?
Send forth your light and your truth,
let them guide me;
let them bring me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you dwell.
Then will I go to the altar of God,
to God, my joy and my delight.
I will praise you with the harp,
O God, my God.
Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.

A prayer for my friend..
My dearest friend,
I pray that God will give you eyes to see his power,
Ears to hear his teaching,
A heart to trust in his promises
And feet to follow in obedience.
You will never walk alone,
For He will be right beside you,
All the way.
Fear not...God has great plans for you.
I pray that God will give you eyes to see his power,
Ears to hear his teaching,
A heart to trust in his promises
And feet to follow in obedience.
You will never walk alone,
For He will be right beside you,
All the way.
Fear not...God has great plans for you.

I like stuff, do you like stuff?
Had lunch with Helen and Dave this weekend. We were chatting about how they have now packed and have moved out of their unit in readiness for their impending departure to China. The conversation soon progressed to the amount of 'stuff' that they had accumulated in their little unit and the heartbreak of parting with much of it. Now, if you have ever been to Helen and Dave's place, they actually live quite simply. Their unit is quite clutter-free and their doesn't really seem to be that much stuff there. By comparison, my room probably contains as much stuff as their entire unit.
See, when it comes to stuff, there are people who love stuff and their are those who spend their life ensuring stuff levels are kept to a minimum. For example, my family is what would technically be termed moderate pack-rats or clutterers. We keep a lot of things for the sake of keeping them, often justifying this by the residual sentimental value associated with the particular stuff. We have a few boxes of stuff we have not unpacked since moving into our home 12 years ago. But to be fair, everything is neat and tidy, and we do go through throwing out or donating stuff each years.
Other people, Dave and Eddie being prime examples, simply hate stuff. They have made it their mission to declutter spaces and rid themselves of all extraneous stuff, standing like stalwart battlers in the war against clutter. Watching Eddie clean his room is a scary thing - I mean, EVERYTHING goes in the dumpster =/ . Things I would have kept purely for sentimental reasons are tossed without a second thought. Incidentally of course, females are more likely to retain stuff for sentimental reasons... all these bleeding hearts!
These guys, on the other hand, are frankly disturbing and scary. Just reading about them creeps me out. Compulsive hoarders apparently are so extreme in their hoarding that their children have started a support group amongst themselves. Hmm... I think I will clean my room this weekend.

Bumpity bump
Bumping my own post so it gets read. Please click here. It's almost like self-advertising. Shameless really.
In other news, I'm trying to find somewhere to go eat tonight. It's soooo difficult! Ok firstly we have a restriction of only being able to start at 7.30pm due to the drinking habits of some. Then, with one vegetarian, one person meat-arian and one person who only eats cheap food - it is practically IMPOSSIBLE to find a place that is decent AND still has seats left for the middle of Friday night.
Hmm I just read over what I wrote and I barely made sense. Goodness knows what my customers are hearing when I speak. All I can say is TGIF!

I wonder if anyone reads this
Since I haven't updated in so long, I'm beginnning to doubt anyone actually reads my blog. So do me a favour, if you do read this, can you please drop a comment to let me know you were here =). Aside from making me feel loved and important, it might give me the motivation to actually blog more regularly again.
Today it is raining. Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain. I love rain =D Rain reminds me of monsoon season in Malaysia, where I would walk to school in knee-deep water. Our classrooms would be flooded so you would sit on your chair and watch the water swirl beneath your feet. At the end of the day, you would remove your shoes to find your toes all wrinkly from being in wet socks all day.
I like rainy days. Now let's just pray something falls in those dams!

The joys of transit
Right now I'm sitting in Singapore airport, quarter of the way into my loooonnnggg 8 hour layover to get home. Paid $8 for a shower - that was the best $8 ever. Nothing like a hot shower after sitting in the same smelly air with 200 other people for 16 hrs. For some reason, there were and inordinate number of babies on my flight, and the minute one started screaming its little head off, all the rest decided to join. Needless to say, I've had better flights.
About to head into Orchard Road to shop. Given I already did over $USD200 at San Francisco airport, I really shouldn't, but hey, what else is a girl suppose to do for 8 hours. Time for new shoes =D
Ahhh I'm so looking forward to be home.

Sick =(
I'm still alive! Just been lazy... very lazy.
I'm currently in San Francisco and I'm sick. Doctor says I've got strep throat, which requires me consuming numerous little pills just to get through the day. But at the moment, I just feel sick. Sick of coughing and waking up at night to take medicine. Sick of eating food from room service and how extra salty all foods in America seems to be. Sick of crappy re-runs on the hotel TV and sick of having to stay in bed when I could be shopping it up in town.
Basically I'm sick and miserable. What a rotten way to come back to blogging eh?
